ITP Publishing Group has awarded engineer Mubarak bin Abdullah Al-Khafrah, TASNEE Chairman, as the best Chairman in the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia in 2009. This award is classified as one of the best prizes awarded for the business sector and is one of 16 awards including "Best CEO and Best Company of the Year.
The ITP Group is one of the international publication houses and it publishes more than 80 publications in various specialties and they are distributed around the world in several languages.
Engineer Al-Khafrah has been selected based on several considerations, mostly due to his leadership of TASNEE and highlighting its role as one of the biggest international companies in the field of petrochemicals and chemicals. TASNEE has realized several leaps making it a strong competitor to major international companies achieving the second rank worldwide in the production of titanium dioxide and owning two major petrochemical projects in the region. Its products have flooded most of the world countries in addition to the presence of a number of factories in Europe and North and South America and Australia. The scientific expertise of engineer Al-Khafrah has varied, where he worked with the Ministry of Industry and Electricity after graduating from the U.S. and held several positions and was most recently Deputy Minister for Industry. Then he was appointed as a member of the Shura Council in Saudi Arabia. He also served in a number of positions the most important of was the Chairman of Al-Sharq and Alrazi company, a subsidiary of SABIC, and the National Glass Industries Company (ZOJAJ) and Chairman of National Industrialization Petrochemicals Company in addition to the membership in a number of the boards of directors of numerous companies from the most important of which are SABIC, Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting, Saudi Industrial Development Fund, the Investment Company, the General Organization for Petroleum and Minerals (Petromin), the Economic Offset Committee, the board of the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization, and a member of Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and other firms. In addition to his position as a chairman of TASNEE, Engineer Al-Khafrah currently is the chairman of the Saudi Poly Olefins Co., TASNEE and SAHARA Olefins Co., the Saudi Ethylene and Polyethylene Company, Malath Insurance Company, and Chairman of Saudi Hollandi Bank.
Engineer Al-Khafrah has been appointed recently as member of Riyadh District Council.
The awards were distributed yesterday evening Sunday March 21, 2010 at Buraydah hall at the Intercontinental Hotel in Riyadh. The ceremony was attended by a number of industry, economy, finance and trade businessmen.
