TASNEE Announces start-up of Polyethylene Factory

National Industrialization Company Declares that (by the grace of God) that one of its subsidiaries, Saudi ethylene and polyethylene Company (SEPC), 75% Co-owned by both Tasnee & Sahara and 25% owned by Lyondell Basil, began production at 22 Shab'an 1429 corresponding to 23 August 2008.

The work of the olifine plant for production of ethylene capacity of 1.000.000 tons per year and polyethylene with capacity of 285.000 tons annually.

The petrochemical complex within Jubail Industrial City, was completed in record time (less than 36 months).

Note that the plant, which enabled the company Lindy (German), where transfer both ethane and propane gases, which are offered by Saudi Aramco to ethylene and propylene. The company declared that is expected to will operate their factories that will use product of olefins plant to be used as feedstock output olefins for the production of high density polyethylene of capacity determination of 400 thousand tons of ethylene and polyethylene in a low-density determination of 400 thousand tons in the fourth quarter 2008 cost of the project amounted to about SR 9.5 billion.
