TASNEE Sponsors Nephrology Awareness Campaign

TASNEE sponsors and participates in the medical awareness campaign of kidney diseases, organized by Prince Salman Center for Kidney Disease, opened yesterday, Sunday March 14th and lasts for 3 days, by His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the supervisor of the Prince Fahd bin Salman Charity for the Care of patients with kidney failure, and under the slogan “Control Diabetes and Keep Your Kidneys”. The campaign includes a number of events coincides with the celebration of World Kidney Day which has been held for the fifth consecutive year and organized by the regional and international kidney associations in more than 66 countries, including Saudi Arabia.
Among these events, an exhibition will be set up at the Prince Salman Center for Kidney Disease during the period from 28-30/3/1431 (14-16/3/2010) in the main square of the Centre at 8-12 am. and 4-8 pm, at Riyadh Gallery Center during the period of 1-2/4/1431 H (17-18/3/2010 m) from 6-9 pm in the evening.
This campaign aims to create community awareness of the importance of the kidneys and spread the concepts that the kidney diseases are widespread and effective, but can be treated. In the world, about 500 million people have kidney diseases, including one million people each year dies from heart disease associated with chronic kidney disease.
The campaign will make tests to students in more than 100 schools in the intermediate and secondary levels for early diagnosis of kidney diseases and put a map to determine the extent of the problem of kidney disease among students in these two age phases. In order to do that, the greatest number of citizens is urged to participate, in addition to transmission of a large number of text awareness messages via mobile phone. A number of medical and awareness lectures will be organized and exhibition will be set up to include a number of agencies that provide services for patients with kidney failure as well as some of the medical community and pharmaceutical companies.
Dr Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saaran, the Chief Executive Officer of Prince Salman Center for Kidney Diseases and the general supervisor of events praised TASNEE sponsorship of kidney campaign for the second year, and its role in the community service and its continued support for social responsibility programs in general. Dr. Alsaaran thanked TASNEE for its continuous support to awareness campaigns, charity associations and other events that serve the community.
