Tasnee concludes its Sponsorship & Participation in the MENA Climate Week 2023

In the presence of Tasnee Chairman, Eng. Mubarak A. Al Khafrah, and CEO Mr. Mutlaq H. Al-Morished and the company leadership, Tasnee concluded its sponsorship and participation in the Middle East and North Africa Climate Week 2023 in the Middle East and North Africa region, which was hosted by the Saudi Government under the generous patronage of HRH the Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, during the period October 8 - 12, 2023, within the guidance of the Ministry of Energy, in coordination with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). Eng. Al Khafrah expressed his pride in Tasnee sponsorship for MENA Climate Week 2023. Al Khafrah reiterated Tasnee’s keenness to reduce carbon emissions achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2060.

Climate Week witnessed HRH the Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman’s announcement of the first green hydrogen train in the Middle East, which will be launched in the Kingdom soon. The event also included a group of distinguished events, important activities, and various workshops. It reflected the Kingdom’s role and commitment in confronting climate challenges and promoting joint actions to adopt integrated sustainable climate solutions.

The CEO, Mr. Mutlaq Al-Morished, participated with CEOs of SABIC and BASF in a discussion panel entitled “Advancing Decarbonization in the Petrochemical Industry Towards Neutrality», where they agreed on the risks of carbon emissions, along with the difficulty of transition to renewable energy sources, due to the large investments it requires to absorb clean energy sources and the time it takes for the transition. Al-Morished stressed: “the importance of the young people's role as a new generation in supporting transformation towards carbon neutrality.

Tasnee participation in this important event comes within its keenness to achieve sustainable development, transition to renewable energy sources, enhance environmental protection and combat climate change.
