Tasnee was one of the first Saudi companies to invest in the petrochemical sector since the mid-ninties of the 20th century. Tasnee efforts began with the construction of the Petrochemical Complex in Jubail. Tasnee then took on the initiative of constructing an Ethylene Cracker. Currently, Tasnee is one of the largest producers of petrochemical products in Saudi Arabia.
Tasnee exports majority of its products to various global markets while also ensuring support to the growth of the local markets in the KSA and GCC. Tasnee’s Petrochemicals are globally recognized for its strength, flexibility, heat resistance and high performance.
Saudi Polyolefins Company (SPC)
SPC was established in July 2001, and it is 75% owned by Tasnee, including two major plants, operating since July 2004, producing 450 KTA of Propylene and 455 KTA of Polypropylene, expanded to 720 KTA in May 2009. The Polypropylene plant is one of the largest of its kind worldwide.
Saudi Ethylene and Polyethylene Company (SEPC)
SEPC was established in May 2006, and it is 45.34% owned by Tasnee. Its major plants include an Ethylene Cracker operating since Aug 2008 producing 1000 KTA of Ethylene and 285 KTA of Propylene. The LDPE and HDPE plants are two of the largest of their kinds worldwide producing 400 KTA of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) since Oct 2008 and 400 KTA of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) since March 2009.
Saudi Acrylic Acid Company (SAAC)
SAAC was established in April 2009, and it is owned 52.29% by Tasnee. It provides the required Utilities, Infrastructure, Offsite and Port facilities required to support Acrylic Acid Complex Plants (SAMCO, SAPCO & SABUCO) and assuring maximum integration of the several plants in the Complex.
Saudi Acrylic Monomers Company (SAMCO)
SAMCO was established in July 2009 and it is 39.22% owned by Tasnee. Its major plants were mechanically completed on Dec. 2013 and they include Butyl Acrylate (BA) producing 160 KTA of (BA) and Glacial Acrylic Acid (GAA) Producing 70 KTA of (GAA). Acrylic Acid and Esters plants are the first of its kind in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Acrylic Polymer Company (SAPCO)
SAPCO was established in July 2012, and 39.22% owned by Tasnee. Its major plant is Superabsorbent Polymer (SAP) plant was mechanically completed in Jan 2014 and it is the first of its kind in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a production capacity of 80 KTA of (SAP).
Saudi Butanol Company (SABUCO)
SABUCO was established in May 2013 and it is 17.43% owned by Tasnee. Its major plants include N-Butanol (NBA) plant with a production capacity of 330 KTA and I- Butanol (IBA) plant with a production capacity of 11 KTA. The plant operation got started in October 2015. The Butanol plant is first of its kind in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Product Families: Acetic Acid, Butanol Liquid fuel, Butyl Acrylate, Glacial Acrylic Acid, Iso-Butanol and Normal Butanol.
Acetic Acid – 85% Purity
Acetic Acid is a pungent, colourless/ yellow liquid organic compound.
Butanol Liquid fuel
Butanol Liquid Fuel is a byproduct mixture of n-Butanol, nd usiso-Butanol and other components. The individual components can be separated and discretely.
Butyl Acrylate is a clear colorless liquid with fruity odor. It is miscible with most of the organic solvents at ambient atmospheric conditions.
Glacial Acrylic Acid
Glacial Acrylic Acid is an unsaturated carboxylic acid available in the form of clear colorless liquid with a characteristic acrid odor. It is miscible with water, alcohols and ethers.
Iso-Butanol is a colorless and flammable, organic liquid compound. It is widely used as a solvent, directly or as its esters.
n-Butanol is a primary alcohol with a characteristic of banana-like odor. It is a colorless liquid of medium volatility.
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
High-Density Polyethylene is one of the most widely used thermoplastic polymers, produced by the polymerization of ethylene. It possesses good impact strength in spite of its low strength and ductility and is also known for its chemical resistance properties.
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)
Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is a thermoplastic derived through the polymerization of ethylene using a high pressure process. LD Polyethylene resins typically have a density ranging from 0.910 g/(cm)^3 to 0.940 g/(cm)^3.
Polypropylene is one of the most significant thermoplastic polymers used in the plastic industry. Its usage varies from production of plastic films, fibers, containers, textiles, caps and plastic components for cars and home appliances.
Polyethylene compounds are PE-based materials produced using a mixture of PE resins and various additives to impact specific properties.
Polypropylene compounds are materials produced using a mixture of PP resins and various components such as impact modifiers, fillers and strengtheners, pigments and additives that impart specific properties to the final product.
Pyrolysis Oil is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons, primarily in the naphtha-range with a high aromatics content, and is obtained as a byproduct from the steam Cracker.
