Glacial Acrylic Acid is an unsaturated carboxylic acid available in the form of clear colorless liquid with a characteristic acrid odor. It is miscible with water, alcohols and ethers. Acrylic acid is undergone the typical reactions of a carboxylic acid, as well as reactions of the double bond similar to those of the acrylate esters. It is used for polymer preparation and as a chemical intermediate. Acrylate esters are generally prepared from acrylic acid.
